MTV’S NEW SERIES “CHELSEA SETTLES,” FOLLOWS A YOUNG WOMAN’S
JOURNEY OF NEW BEGINNINGS AND PERSONAL REINVENTION
SERIES DEBUTS ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11 AT 11:00 P.M. ET/PT
MTV’s new docu-series “Chelsea Settles” which follows the highs and lows as Chelsea embarks on the biggest journey of her life — leaving the only home she has ever known for a fresh start in a city more than 2,000 miles away. The 12-part series will premiere on MTV with an hour-long episode on Tuesday, October 11 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT and will air in 30-minute installments beginning October 18. “Chelsea Settles” will also air internationally on MTV channels around the world beginning early 2012.
Chelsea Settles is a typical 23-year-old recent college graduate who has hopes and dreams of pursuing a career in fashion in glamorous Los Angeles. But achieving your dreams is not as easy as it seems when you live in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, have a mother with severe medical conditions, a long distance boyfriend who’s not always there when you need him, and struggle with your weight of 324 pounds.
Chelsea’s decision to move across the country is not without reservations. With a severely diabetic mom who has been in and out of hospitals for years and in need of kidney and pancreas transplants, to a boyfriend who would rather Chelsea follow him in his military pursuits instead of fulfilling her dreams of making a life for herself in L.A., she grapples with making one of the most difficult choices she’s ever had to make.
Not only is moving to L.A. a chance for Chelsea to jumpstart a career in the fashion world, but also an opportunity to expand her social life by confronting the social phobias that have been holding her back and to take control of her weight in effort to get healthy.
In the end, she stays true to herself and commits to the move. After arriving on the West Coast, Chelsea must deal with the stresses that typically come with relocating to a new city – stresses that can make transitioning to a healthier lifestyle even more difficult. From moving into a new place and having a roommate for the first time to finding a job, committing to a trainer, and getting a first-hand look at the L.A. social scene – Chelsea quickly realizes that her new environment may not be everything she thought or hoped.
Lindsey Bannister, Tara Higgins, Marshall Eisen and Dave Sirulnick serve as Executive Producers for “Chelsea Settles.” The series was developed by Jessica Antonini and Lindsey Bannister.

In 1993, Mike Judge (creator of “Beavis and Butthead”) and MTV knocked their heads together and launched a cartoon series starring a couple of lunkheads and unwittingly started an animated pop culture revolution! Beginning October 27th, Beavis and Butthead are coming back to MTV to unleash upon music videos, Jersey Shore, viral videos and more!
Deliberately unintelligent and crude, Beavis and Butt-Head revolved around the high-schoolers' discussions about TV, heavy-metal music, nachos and trying to "score" with chicks. When Beavis and Butt-head weren't sitting on the couch, they try to pick up girls at the local convenience store, slack off at school or wreak havoc while working at a burger joint, where they'd often deep-fry body parts or dead mice for fun.
In 1996, the duo appeared on the silver screen in Beavis and Butt-head Do America. After the show ended its MTV run the following year, creator Mike Judge went on to make the long-running animated Fox series King of the Hill. That same year, MTV began airing Daria, a spin-off based on Beavis and Butt-head's dry-witted classmate.
Beavis and Butt-head made appearances on the MTV Video Music Awards, the Academy Awards and Celebrity Deathmatch, and the show continued to be parodied and referenced on everything from Saturday Night Live to The Simpsons.
The music universe exploded when MTV returned to Los Angeles, CA for the 2011 “MTV Video Music Awards.” The 28th Annual VMAs aired LIVE Sunday, August 28th from Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE at 9PM (ET/PT).
The 2011 “MTV Video Music Awards” was available to a potential viewing audience of more than 1.2 billion people via MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels reaching more than 640 million households around the world as well as through syndication. In addition, its convergent programming and content reached the entire interactive community, via MTV’s nearly 200 digital media properties around the world.
Viewers will be taken to a place they’ve never been before, with MTV’s new horror-comedy “Death Valley.” The scripted series follows the ‘Undead Task Force’ (UTF), a newly formed division of the LAPD, documentary-style, as they capture the monsters that roam the streets of California’s San Fernando Valley. In a world where vampires, werewolves and zombies live freely, “Death Valley” is a fun, comedic non-stop thrill ride featuring chases, hardcore kills and bizarre encounters.
MTV GETS "AWKWARD.” THIS SUMMER, WITH THE PREMIERE OF ITS NEW SCRIPTED COMEDY SERIES ON JULY 19 AT 11 P.M. ET/PT
“Awkward.” Will Air Tuesday Nights Following MTV's Hit Series “Teen Mom”
MTV recently announced the addition of new scripted comedy “Awkward.” to its summer lineup, premiering Tuesday, July 19 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. This series takes an irreverent look at the conflict, chaos and humor that defines teenage life through the eyes of 15-year-old Jenna Hamilton, played by Ashley Rickards (“Fly Away,” “One Tree Hill”), whose life begins to change when a simple accident becomes an epic misunderstanding and is blown way out of proportion. The 12-episode half-hour series will air Tuesday nights at 11 p.m. ET/PT following MTV's hit series “Teen Mom.”“Awkward.” will also air internationally on MTV channels around the world starting in September 2011.
“We’re extremely proud to introduce this smart, funny, irreverent - and ultimately relatable - new series to our growing slate of scripted programming,” said David Janollari, Head of MTV Programming. “With a phenomenal cast of fresh faces, coupled with a strong female voice and message of empowerment, we’re confident this show will resonate with our audience, so much so that we've given it the prime timeslot behind “Teen Mom,” one of our highest rated series.”
Narrated in the first-person voice of Jenna's blog posts, “Awkward.” captures the humor within the struggles and experiences everyone can relate to from their formative years. The series picks up in the aftermath of the accident as she must deal with a new not-so-fun stigma, while at the same time managing the other daily drama that comes with being a teenager. From a secret relationship with a popular guy, to being undermined by a mean girl, and parents who just don't get it-Jenna's misfortune will eventually serve as the catalyst for amazing change, but it’s not without some missteps and mishaps along the way.
The show will also feature Beau Mirchoff (“Desperate Housewives”) as ‘Matty,’ Jenna’s love interest; Molly Tarlov (“Huge,” “iCarly”) as ‘Sadie,’ Jenna's nemesis; Jillian Rose Reed (“Weeds”) as 'Tamara’ and Jessica Lu (“CSI,” “Law & Order: Los Angeles”) as ‘Ming,’ Jenna's two best friends; Brett Davern (“Junk,” “Triple Dog,” ) as ‘Jake,’ the good natured popular kid; Greer Grammer (“iCarly”) as Lissa, a popular cheerleader; Nikki DeLoach (“North Shore,” “Love and Other Drugs”) as Jenna's mom ‘Lacey;’ Desi Lydic (“Traffic Light,” “Two and a Half Men”) as ‘Valerie,’ the school's guidance counselor; and Mike Faiola as Jenna’s dad, ‘Kevin;’ (“Seeing Other People”).
“Awkward.” was created by Lauren Iungerich who also serves as executive producer. David Janollari and Justin Levy are the MTV executives in charge of production.

Can you trust your worst enemy? That is the question that twenty-eight vicious competitors will be asking themselves this season as they travel to the lush jungles of Costa Rica to compete in a thrilling new Challenge: Rivals. These fan favorites will receive the shock of their lives when they learn that their one and only teammate will be their biggest rival! In order to win, these arch-enemies must figure out how to overcome their rocky pasts and compete together for a jaw-dropping grand prize. Over $300,000 is at stake, and these bitter rivals will fight tooth and nail in order to get their hands on a cut of the cash!
However, not every rival pair will make it to the end to fight for a share of the wealth. Teams will live in fear of "The Jungle" -- a mentally and physically exhausting elimination round. Avoiding the dreaded "Jungle" will mean that these bitter enemies must learn to work together, despite their ugly pasts, in order to win challenges. Here's how it works: there will be male challenge days and female challenge days. After each challenge, the winning duo will be safe from "The Jungle." However, ranks will be thinned as the last place pair will automatically be sent into "The Jungle." Their opponents will be selected by their peers in a public forum. These two unlucky teams will battle it out in "The Jungle" for survival. The winning pair will stay in the game to pursue their dreams of victory. The losing pair, however, will be sent home in disgrace. Only the pairs that make it to the end will have a chance at the money.
With over $300,000 on the line, these players must quickly learn to bury the hatchet with their rival or risk losing a shot at the cash. Old tensions will arise and new feuds will form. Partnerships will be tested, romances will blossom, hearts will be broken, and punches will be thrown, as battles rage both on and off the playing field. And in a shocking, mid-season twist, players will be sent over 3,000 miles away to a new location! Those who manage to survive until the end will compete in what is undeniably the biggest, baddest, most treacherous finale in Challenge history -- where one male team and one female team will win it all and be crowned champions of Rivals.

In each episode, we'll take a look back at pop culture from the year each star was 17, reminiscing about their favorite music, movies, and TV shows. Find out about the car they drove, the clothes they wore, their favorite hang-outs, and hear their memories of historical events from when they were 17.
College is all about reinvention. It's a time in a teen's life where they can leave behind all of the preconceived notions people had about them in high school and start fresh. Unless they're massively overweight.
'I Used To Be Fat' is a new documentary series profiling teenagers desperate to shed their unwanted pounds before heading off to school. We'll send a weight loss guru to work with each person and they'll go through rigorous fitness regimens and work with experts to learn how to change the habits that caused them to gain so much weight.
Each one-hour episode will focus on a different student, following them from the last weeks of high school to the first crucial days of college, and giving viewers an inspirational and intimate account of their emotional and physical transformation, as they struggle to change their attitudes, eating habits, and ultimately their lives.
But this summer is about more than just losing weight for these teens -- it's also about figuring out who they are and who they want to be. It's time for them to stop leaning on mom and dad and to learn to stand on their own two feet. It's a chance for them to realize that if they don't take charge of their lives now, they never will.
Throughout each show, viewers will witness how each teen's life and view of the world starts to change as they start to lose weight, and they'll see them when they debut their new look -- and their new outlook -- on their first day of college.
At the end of each episode, we'll catch up after a few months of college to see where they are now. Have they kept the weight off or gained it back? Is college life what they'd dreamed it would be? And what will their families and friends say when they see them again?
Some will lose the weight. Others will fail. But either way, this will be the most important summer of their lives.

On a weekly basis, we will also feature the biggest hip hop story of the week in the Sucker Free News reports, and feature segments from our media partner at XXL magazine (which include Show & Prove, Eye Candy, Behind the Cover and Main Attraction).
The Real World Las Vegas is the true story of seven strangers living in a city defined by pleasure, temptation and the excitement of youth. It's a three month journey through the lives of Adam, Dustin, Heather, Leroy, Michael, Naomi, and Nany as they get to know each other, reveal secrets about themselves, -- and experience life like they never have before in a specially designed suite at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Everything in Vegas is on a grander scale, and that comes through loud and clear this season. Romance among the cast members is at an all time high, and as secrets each cast member has brought with them are revealed, those relationships will be challenged and tested. In some cases the relationships will fail the test and in other cases they will come out stronger and deeper.
Teen Mom 2 is a spin-off of the MTV documentary series ‘16 and Pregnant’. The show follows the stories of four girls from the second season of ‘16 and Pregnant’ and documents the challenges of their first years of motherhood. Each episode interweaves stories of four teenage girls who are navigating the bumpy terrain of adolescence, growing pains, and coming of age - all while facing the responsibility of being a young mother.
Each story offers a unique look into the wide variety of challenges young mothers can face: marriage, relationships, family support, or lack thereof, adoption, finances, rumors among the community, graduating high school, starting college, getting (or losing) a job and the daunting and exciting step of moving out of the nest to create their own families.
MTV News is the authority for music, movies and pop culture news for the Millennial audience, producing a diverse mix of daily news stories, insider specials, weekly series, live red carpet shows, exclusive music video and movie premieres, as well as exclusive artist and celebrity interviews on-air, online, via mobile and across social media. The unit has experienced tremendous growth year-over-year (57-percent increase in unique visitors; 32-percent increase in video streams), fueled largely by its innovative, interactive new initiative, “MTV First.”
“MTV First” embraces the channel’s short-form legacy with live four-minute, on-air exclusive interviews that expand in real-time to long-form, online live streams. Since January, “MTV First” has featured Lil Wayne, Foo Fighters, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift and Robert Pattinson, as well as online-only live stream, “RapFix Live.”
MTV has greenlit season two of its original comedy series “The Hard Times of RJ Berger,” building on the network’s growing slate of scripted programming, which includes recently announced greenlights for “Skins” and “Teen Wolf.” The second season of “Hard Times” underscores MTV’s broader programming strategy to leverage the success of its reality franchises to develop and nurture a range of new scripted series for the network’s millennial audience.
The Hard Times of RJ Berger orbits the hilariously-hellish life of a deeply unpopular high school student (Paul Iacono) and his scheming, sex-obsessed best friend, Miles Jenner (Jareb Dauplaise). Other than pining after the girl of his dreams, Jenny Swanson (Amber Lancaster), receiving daily beatings from the meanest jock in school, Max Owens (Jayson Blair), and evading the stalker-ish advances of Lily Miran (Kara Taitz), there really wasn't much excitement in RJ's life. That was, until his anatomical gift was accidentally exposed to the entire school.
In a single moment, RJ went from anonymous to infamous, and for the first time in his life, he felt a tiny sliver of confidence. Swept up in this man-sized wave of recognition, viewers watched RJ claw his way out of the popularity basement. Whether trying to get laid, dealing with his bizarre parents, or simply navigating the treacherous waters of high school, RJ lives out the stories -- good, bad and ugly -- that we all remember from high school. One mis-adventure at a time, fans see him grow from a shy, awkward boy into a slightly less shy and awkward young man.
“The Dudesons have balls where there should be brains, and I am honored to be doing a show with them,” said Johnny Knoxville, Executive Producer, Dickhouse Entertainment.
The Dudesons, four Finnish extreme stuntmen and pranksters, are totally lovable, yet totally lunatic friends from the Arctic Circle who want to live out their American dream – to do even stupider stunts and pranks than they did back home. In “Dudesons in America,” Jukka (the ringleader), Jarppi (the fat funny guy), HP (Mr. Sensitive), and Jarno (the filmmaker) want to take over America as they try to win over local townsfolk and whatever authorities they’ll likely encounter while doing the dumbest things imaginable. In the spirit of the American West, the Nordic knuckleheads try to become cowboys by walking on stilts into a bullring with a very angry bull. And when they’ve conquered enough of what’s on the ground of the U.S.A., they follow the American dream of space exploration; the Dudesons try to reach Uranus in their self-built space rocket.
Dudesons in America is executive produced by Jukka Hilden, Jarno Laasala, Jarppi Leppala and HP Parviainen for Rabbit Films; Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine for Dickhouse Entertainment; and Ross Breitenbach. Liz Gateley and Lauren Dolgen are the MTV executives in charge of production.
‘MTV’s 16 and Pregnant’ is an hour-long documentary series focusing on the controversial subject of teen pregnancy. Each episode follows a 5-7 month period in the life of a teenager as she navigates the bumpy terrain of adolescence, growing pains, rebellion, and coming of age; all while dealing with being pregnant.
Every episode offers a unique look into the wide variety of challenges pregnant teens face: marriage, adoption, religion, gossip, finances, rumors among the community, graduating high school, getting (or losing) a job. Faced with incredibly adult decisions, these girls are forced to sacrifice their teenage years and their high school experiences. But there is an optimism among them; they have the dedication to make their lives work, and to do as they see fit to provide the best for their babies.
In ‘16 and Pregnant’, they were moms-to-be. Now, follow Farrah, Maci, Amber, and Catelynn as they face the challenges of their first year of motherhood.
Each episode interweaves these stories revealing the wide variety of challenges young mothers can face: marriage, relationships, family support, adoption, finances, graduating high school, starting college, getting a job, and the daunting and exciting step of moving out to create their own families.
The 20th Annual "MTV Movie Awards" aired live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
MTV fans once again held the destiny of the golden popcorn awards in their hands. This year’s brand new “BEST LINE FROM A MOVIE” category allowed fans to vote on the movie catchphrases they couldn’t stop repeating. In returning categories like “BEST MOVIE,” the blockbusters “Inception” and “The Social Network” went head-to-head with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1” to be the fan-favorite flick of the year. In a “Movie Awards” first, Kristen Stewart received two nominations in the same category with “BEST KISS” nods for her smooches with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” “BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE” saw Emma Stone’s LOL-inducing performance in “Easy A” leave comedy’s heavy hitters in the dust. At the “MTV Movie Awards,” it’s anyone’s game as all was determined by the viewers as they voted to create this year’s list of nominees for Hollywood’s most outrageous awards ceremony.
Season Two of MTV's My Life as Liz finds its protagonist, Liz Lee, suddenly existing as a little fish in an extra-large pond. Liz has made the jump from the familiar confines of Burleson High in Texas to Pratt Institute, a world-renowned art school in the center of trendy Brooklyn, NY. Faced with the challenges of a new and unfamiliar city, Liz struggles to set up the life she always dreamed of having in the Big Apple. But instead of battling her former arch-nemesis, Cori Cooper, Liz must overcome pretentious art students, questionable living situations, and a crappy day job.
Thankfully, she can still rely on her 'nerd herd' back in Texas for support. Her best friends Sully, Troy, and Miles are still as dedicated to Liz as ever, which leads to some trouble now and then, as their attempts to help her are sometimes misguided. Liz's romantic interest, Bryson, is now in Austin, Texas, and their status finally takes a huge step forward when Bryson shows up unexpectedly in New York. But as it often happens with Liz, things don't end up going quite as she would expect.
In the end, season two is all about new beginnings, as Liz redefines her existing relationships and continues to make new ones -- with New York, with Marc, her quirky new roommate, and most importantly, with Louis, a charming musician who becomes a great friend and possibly (when things get rocky with Bryson), something even more.
These transitions may not all be seamless, but that's life...when you're Liz.
It's tee-shirt time! New Jersey's most recognizable housemates are reunited and returning to Seaside, NJ -- where all the fist-pumping magic began and a pop culture phenomenon was born. All seven roomies agree they are glad to be back and that Angelina is gone. Too bad none of them know Snooki has invited her BFF Deena Nicole Cortese to fill the void. For the first time ever, the 2011 “mtvU Woodie Awards” is heading out of New York City to Austin, Texas during the 25th Anniversary of South by Southwest and will be broadcast LIVE on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU.
As the only award show to honor and highlight the music and artists voted ‘best’ by the US college audience, the 6th annual show will be executive produced by longtime MTV VMAs executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, promising an unforgettable night of music and performances.
Within each episode, team members will repeatedly draw cards to determine who must step up to the plate to endure the next “test.” The teammate who unluckily draws the skull and cross bones card will have to complete the task at hand to the satisfaction of the wise cracking host and moderator of Silent Library. Should the teammate performing the stunt not last long enough or should their friends seated beside them erupt with uncontainable laughter… the cash prize on the line will decrease.
With only one guiding rule—to remain SILENT, MTV will show viewers that just because you aren’t heading into the Gauntlet or facing off in a Duel doesn’t mean that the stakes aren’t high, that the stunts aren’t real and that the competition isn’t fierce. Never has the MTV audience sat through a study hall, Saturday detention or cram session in a library quite like this…

In each episode of Is She Really Going Out With Him? we’ll closely examine one couple as our hot chick eventually leads herself towards making a fateful decision… Will she stay with her douchebag bf or move on to a better man?

Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew concluded its sixth season on Sunday, June 5th. The “Season of the Superstars” came to an end as fans watched IaMmE dominate the stage with a show stopping performance to take home the title of “America’s Next Best Dance Crew.” This season IaMmE battled it out against ten of the fiercest dance crews in the nation, showcasing their edgy and innovative moves as they faced the challenge of incorporating a new artist each week. IaMmE joins past dance crew champions including - JabbaWockeeZ, Super Cr3w, Quest Crew, We Are Heroes and Poreotix.
For the first time ever, season six featured each episode themed to a popular celebrity artist. Special guest appearances included Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, and themed episodes will be inspired by the hottest names in music including Rihanna, Lil Wayne and more!
Mario Lopez returned as the host of the new Dance Crew season as did judges JC Chasez and Lil Mama. Joining the judging panel was Quest Crew's Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval, and together they critiqued each week's performances in their search for America's Best Dance Crew.
In the first season, JabbaWockeeZ worked the crowd every week with their synchronized moves and signature masks, and were the first to claim the coveted title of America's Best Dance Crew and the $100,000 cash prize. The second time around, it was Super Cr3w who stole the show and all of the ABDC glory. Season three was dominated by Quest Crew and all of their masterful performances. During season four, We Are Heroes walked away as the first all-female group to win the title. And last season was ruled by Poreotix and their robotic style.
