However for a select few, summer means working at the mall! “The American Mall” gives you a look into the lives of Ally, Joey, and Madison. Ally is the small town girl with aspirations of becoming the next big pop star, Joey is the cute janitor with dreams of being a big time rock star, and Madison is the spoiled daughter of the mall owner who has it all. Watch as these teens show through emotional songs and exciting dance moves just what they are willing to do to turn their dreams and ambition into reality and stardom.

For those who originally missed these classic moments and for those that want to re-live them, MTV is bringing you “The Hills’ Top 50 Moments.” So dust off your “Team Heidi” tee and kick back with your favorite snack as “The Hills” special promises to take viewers on a twists and turns-filled trip down memory lane.

Who could forget Bjorn and his Divo-licious antics or poor little Ava’s heart-wrenching story of not getting her Range Rover on her birthday? Well, Mommy and Daddy are finally cutting the purse strings and forcing their cash-coddling kids to grow up and do something for themselves. With the help of MTV, some “Sweet 16” alums will be sent halfway around the world to live with a teenager from a drastically different cultural and economic background for one week. They will be subjected to a life of hardship and independence that can’t be easily willed away with the swipe of a credit card. Will these entitled teens be able to endure the “indignity” of washing their own clothes or will they buckle under the pressure?
